Historic Greenbelt, Maryland: A Planned Town Built at the Height of the Great Depression
The Baltimore and Washington, DC That Tourists Rarely See
Last week I wrote about my first attempt at making a travel video back in 2020 focusing on local places in the Baltimore-DC area that tourists tend to overlook. Actually the big challenge wasn’t dodging the COVID-19 pandemic (which I managed to avoid by wearing a face mask and practice social distancing as much as possible). The big challenge was dealing with TikTok having a runtime limit of no longer than one minute.
So after dealing with that hassle, I ended up picking places I could make videos about where I had no problem with keeping my video under the TikTok-imposed one-minute limit. For this second video in my The Baltimore and Washington, DC That Tourists Rarely See I decided to focus on the historic area of Greenbelt, Maryland, which originally began as a planned town that was built at the height of the Great Depression. I managed to keep my video under one minute and things went off without a hitch.
The video has a runtime of one minute and it was first uploaded online on October 14, 2020. Here are the two formats of my same video. Pick the one that suits you the best.
Horizontal video (for computer monitors and TV sets)
Vertical video (for smartphones and other mobile devices)
You can learn more about the history of Historic Greenbelt right here.
Check out the Archives for more ideas on what off-beat places to visit in the Baltimore-DC area (and sometimes beyond).
That’s it for now! See you next time!
